Length Measurement:
Sending Unit length should be a minimum of one (1) inch less than the plastic tank depth, and three quarters (0.75) of an inch less than the metal tank depth. Note: If metal tank surface flexes, deduct one (1) inch from the depth. (like plastic tank)
Sending Unit lengths available:
Four (4) through sixty (60) inches, with one half (0.5”) inch increments through 18.5”, and one (1) inch increments thereafter. Note: Holding tank senders (SHS/SHST) are only available in four (4), eight (8), twelve (12) and sixteen (16) inch lengths. S3U & S5U sending unit lengths, are measured from the top of the threads to probe tip.
Material:
All sending units are constructed out of 316 Type Stainless Steel and operate on a vertical plane (no float arm).
Model Prefix & Mounting Method:
SSS & SSL:
Standard SAE 5 hole patterns, 2.125” bolt circle, 240 – 30 ohm operation.
Note: Units are supplied with a gasket, but without mounting screws.
S3U:
1.25” BSP, straight, male, British thread that seals with an “O” ring (used mostly for European applications, see adapters.) 240 – 30 ohm operation
S5U:
1.5 ” NPT, American pipe thread, male, 240 – 30 ohm operation
SHS:
Holding Tank Sender, mounts via 6 each mounting screws on a 2.75” bolt circle. Requires a 2.125” diameter hole in your tank. All mounting hardware is provided. Available only in 4”, 8”, 12”, & 16” lengths.
SHST:
Holding Tank Sender, Mounts via a 1. 5” NPT male thread. Available only in 4”, 8”, 12”, & 16” lengths
Adapters:
FL2-WE:
P/N 163010 @ $4.00 each. Use on sender model S3U. Converts British 1.25” BSP mount to standard American SAE-5 hole mount (2.125” bolt circle), or larger European 5-hole mount pattern.
FLSU:
P/N 163303 @ $6.00 each. Under-ring for the SSS & SSL sender, “C” shaped, 316 type ST/Steel adapter, threaded to the SAE 5 hole pattern, furnished with mounting screws. Can also be used for the SAE 5 hole pattern bolt circle (Inner bolt circle) on the FL2-WE.
